Getting a place where you are welcome despite yourself, where you get peace of mind is a big challenge in one’s life. In many cases, people are considered through their origin, color, ethnicity just to mention a few. Think of a place where you are considered beyond all these aspect of life; where you are just seen as a human being; a place where people are ready to listen to your story … a real great and global family. Nowhere else will be a better place to go than there.

My personal experience might be an example of how life changes when we are given opportunity to express ourselves through what we are able to do.

I joined Yole!Africa one afternoon after many days in intricate situations, struggling for survival. I am an urban Refugee from Eritrea living in Kampala, Uganda. It was not easy for me to integrate into the local community or adapt myself to their way of living since I was a foreigner. It was so hard for me to survive. But at Yole!Africa I found a one huge happy family where I could see people from different races singing, painting chatting and laughing together. I was so impressed and wanted to bond in the happiness of people around this family. I could even read happiness in the eyes of these young people when they where living in the evening after they have completed their activities. And this happiness started entering my heart. It was really such a wonderful experience.

When I came to Kampala, I set up a small restaurant just to help sustain my survival but things were not that easy. After joining Yole!Africa, I realized that the restaurant was not the right place/thing for me and decided to abandon the whole idea the very next day.

Each second of my life I have spent at Yole!Africa makes me feel confident and happy and also got its own value for the uniqueness in my life. I came to realize

It is time for the world to change; Art can make it where others have failed.

Yole!Africa is one big paradigm.
