The
struggle of African man, to find his place and his
dignity in the modern world, while he is rooted in the
first pages of man’s history; therein he takes immense
pride, but the world has deformed the truth and does not
acknowledge Africa as the foundation of humanity.
Therefore African men and women are deeply hurt inside
and are always looking for a way to stand up in this
world where white rules are imposed on Alkebulan.
Alkebu Origin is a film idea
exploring the identity of modern man; black and white.
It is a search not only past the bottom line of history,
but also into the circular movement of history…
The film is a dance intermixed with
landscapes of thoughts from our collective memory.
In the dance, the struggle for
identity gets shape, while the thoughts from collective
memory embody the history of the days of rule, the days
of slavery, the days of colonialism, the struggle of
liberation by Marcus Gavey, Nyerere, Sankara, Lumumba up
to the present day in Africa. Everything that is
accumulated in the people that live today.
